Our Palm Oil Sourcing Sustainability Policy:
Why is palm oil an important issue for us?
Delicious and sustainable chestnut delicacies
In our chestnut processing facility, we are proud to produce our products based on traditional recipes and high-quality raw materials. For us, quality does not only mean excellent taste, but also respect for nature and the environment.
Do we use palm oil?
Not directly. Our factory does not purchase or use pure palm oil in production; however, some ingredients used in our chestnut desserts—such as soft vegetable cream fillings and crispy chocolate coating masses—do contain palm oil or palm kernel oil. Since these ingredients are essential for maintaining the premium quality and familiar taste of our products, we pay special attention to their sourcing.
What do we do to protect the environment?
We believe that responsibility is shared. Therefore, we have joined the international Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and committed to the following principles:
We do not support deforestation: We primarily purchase cream fillings and coating compounds whose palm oil content is certified as originating from sustainable plantations. In doing so, we help protect rainforests and the ecosystems and biodiversity they support.
Exclusively verified suppliers: We work only with partners who provide strict international certification and full traceability of the origin of their raw materials.
Respect for human rights: Through the RSPO certification system, respect for the human rights of plantation workers is ensured, and the use of child labor or forced labor is strictly prohibited.
Strict manufacturing controls: At our facility, we place special emphasis on the segregation of raw materials and the thorough cleaning of production lines to ensure that sustainably sourced ingredients remain fully traceable from the plantation all the way to your table.
One of our key objectives is to source all raw materials containing palm oil or palm kernel oil from certified suppliers.
When you choose our chestnut products, you can be confident that you are supporting a company that actively contributes to a more sustainable future for our planet.
