Here, you will find the recipe for one of the few salads made of chestnuts. It goes well with meals prepared from chestnuts, as well as with dishes containing no chestnuts at all.Ingredients:
- 80 dkg of plain whole chestnuts
- ground pepper and salt according to taste
Preheat the oven to 180 °C, and place the chestnuts onto a baking sheet with their flat bottoms up. Bake them for approx. 15-18 minutes and take them out of the oven. Peel the onions and chop them into small pieces, then sauté them in a tbsp of hot margarine in a skillet. Next, add the remaining margarine and all the chestnuts to the onions, and season the mix with salt and pepper. Roast it by continuously shaking the skillet for
1-2 minutes, then sprinkle finely-chopped parsley on top. Serve it with game, poultry, pork, or beef.
